Steamed Vegetables with Curry - Honey Sauce

The ingredients sound interesting but you cannot STEAM something until it is crisp. Steam is moist, and you cannot get veggies crispy that way, unless you barely steam them at all and serve them mostly raw.. in which case they will retain their fresh crispness. If you want a cooked crisp texture you must bake, broil, grill, or fry the veggies, with as little moisture as possible. Steaming too long will only make them mushy.

Oh, please... do not criticize this recipe over semantics. Anyone who CAN cook knows the intent of the meaning steam until crispy stage (or can infer). To waste so much of your time criticizing is belittling and ignorant. I used this recipe with a marinated flank steak and baked potato and my family RAVED over it. I am using it again tonight with homemade augratin potatos and HOTDOGS! A great and delicious vegetable side... easy to boot. I HIGHLY recommend it!

This is my new favorite sauce. It is absolutely delicious with roasted vegetables and steamed rice. I have used it as a very flavorful dressing on a cold chickpea salad. It is so quick and easy.

I have substituted brown sugar for the honey and it is still fantastic. If you substitute sour cream for 1 cup of the mayo you wind up with a dip that everyone goes crazy over.

Just made this to go with the steamed vegetables and it is absolutely delicious!!! I prepared it like Greta suggested with a cup of sour cream in place of a cup of mayo. I want to put this sauce on EVERYTHING!! The next time I bring a vegetable tray to a family gathering, this is going with it.

Has anyone tried replacing the mayo with Greek yogurt? I have read that you can but I have never tried it.

I used half whole milk yogurt and half Best Foods mayo AND because I was out of honey I substituted 2 tbsp. brown sugar added the lemon juice and 1 tsp. zest plus 1 tbsp. madras curry. EXCELLENT!
