DEEP SOUTH POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. Wesson oil
5 lg. eggs
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sweet milk
3 2/3 c. cake flour

Cream butter and sugar; add oil 2 tablespoons at a time. Add eggs, one at a time, beating slightly after each addition. Add lemon juice and salt. Add milk and flour alternately, ending with flour. Blend well.

Pour into a greased tube pan with bottom lined with greased waxed paper. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on cake rack.
