COCOA SPICE MUFFINS 
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. baking cocoa
3/4 c. applesauce
1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 c. chopped nuts or raisins (optional)

Thoroughly combine melted butter and cocoa; add applesauce. Combine next 6 ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Blend in cocoa mixture and egg until dry ingredients are moistened. Fold in nuts. Fill greased muffin cups or muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool. Drizzle glaze on muffin, if desired.

GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. milk

Blend until smooth.
