NORWEGIAN LITTLE WREATHS 
3/4 c. unsalted butter
3/4 c. solid white shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. almond extract
4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
Green food coloring
Red cinnamon candies

Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar and beat until light. Add eggs and almond extract. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture. Add a few drops of green food coloring. Pinch off a piece the size of a walnut and roll into a rope about 6 inches long. Form into a circle; bring one end over the other and pass it through center, leaving about a 1 inch hole. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with cinnamon candies. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Do not allow to brown. Makes about 40-50 cookies.
