OLD - FASHIONED STACK CAKE 
6 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 c. sugar
1 c. light molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. Crisco shortening

Cream Crisco and sugar together. Add molasses and mix well. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla, sift dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. On a floured surface, drop 3/4 cup of batter. Sprinkle more flour over top for easier handling. Grease and flour three 9 inch cake pans. (I use the throw away pans.)
