CRANBERRY APPLE CRUNCH 
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 c. cranberries
2 c. apples, peeled and chopped
1 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. walnuts

Mix sugar and water; boil 5 minutes. Add cranberries and cook until skins pop, about 5 more minutes. Remove from heat. Add apples and pour into buttered 10 x 6 x 1 1/2 inch baking dish.

Mix oats, brown sugar, flour, salt and butter. Add broken walnuts. Sprinkle over top of fruit. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm with whipped cream.
