GERMAN COLESLAW | |
1/2 head cabbage 1 sm. onion Salt & pepper to taste 1 c. water 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 to 1/3 lb. bacon Shred the cabbage. Chop onion finely. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add water and sugar to cabbage mixture and stir. Do not refrigerate. Cut the bacon into small pieces and fry to crisp. Pour warm bacon and grease over warm salad and serve immediately. Serves 6. |
