1 c. butter or Crisco
2 c. flour
1 c. powdered sugar
1 scant tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix like pie crust; add 1 beaten egg, 1 teaspoon almond extract, and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Roll in a ball; press with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees.
