1 box confectioners' sugar 1 lb. butter (1/2 lb.) butter and 1/2 lb. butter flavored Crisco may be used) 4 c. Swans Down cake flour 6 lg. eggs 1 heaping tsp. Calumet baking powder Juice of 1 lemon 1/3 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 tsp. lemon extract Drops yellow coloring, if desired Cream butter and sugar. Alternate adding the eggs and flour/baking powder mixture, starting with an egg, then 1 cup flour, an egg, 1 cup flour, etc. Start and end with egg, beating after each addition. |
