STRAWBERRY SHORT CUT CAKE 
1 c. miniature marshmallows
2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen, sliced strawberries in syrup, completely thawed
1 pkg. (3 oz.) strawberry gelatin
2 1/4 c. flour
2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. solid shortening
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Generously grease bottom only of a 13 x 9 baking pan; sprinkle marshmallows evenly over bottom of pan. Thoroughly combine completed thawed strawberries and syrup with dry gelatin; set aside.

In large mixer bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at medium speed, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Pour batter evenly over marshmallows in prepared pan. Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm or cold with ice cream or whipped cream.
