Wash greens thoroughly. Put about 1 pint water in heavy pot with 4 slices bacon. Bring to boil, add greens and cover until they boil. Remove lid, reduce fire to just boiling, cook about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper. Add more water if needed, small amount at a time.
