HAMBURG CHOWDER 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 sm. onion, chopped
2 c. diced potatoes
1 c. chopped carrot
1 c. chopped celery
1 (27 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained
2 c. water
2 c. V-8 juice
1/2 c. barley
1 tbsp. fresh parsley
1/2 tsp. oregano

Salt and pepper to taste. Brown ground beef and onion. Drain drippings from pan. Add rest of ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
