LOTTIE'S APPLE DUMPLINGS 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Bring to a boil and set aside. 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 2 tsp. baking powder 2/3 c. shortening

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, shortening and milk together. Roll out not too thin to make 6 squares. Peel and core 3 large or 6 small apples. Place in center of square; fill core with little sugar, cinnamon and butter. Fold dough around like a diaper. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 or 15 minutes. Pour sugar syrup over and bake until apples are done. If syrup starts getting too thick, add a little water.
