MY MOTHER'S PEANUT BUTTER AND
OATS CANDY
 
2 c. white sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. uncooked quick oats

Grease 8 x 8 inch pan with butter. Put sugar, butter and milk in medium kettle. Bring to bubbly boil. Remove from stove. Add peanut butter and vanilla, stir until peanut butter is melted. Add oats, stir until they are coated. Pour quickly into butter pan. When cold cut into squares.

I enjoyed this recipe! They need to stay cold. But if you put in the freezer they are great to take out and put in lunch boxes by the time you eat them they're just right. I also changed the recipe and added all natural and organic ingredients. Almond Butter instead of peanut and almond vanilla silk and almond extract is very yummy too.

This has been a family favorite for years. Instead of fudge for the holidays we have Oats Candy and it always reminds me of my Oma (Grama).
