SOUTHERN PEACH COBBLER 
3 c. fresh sliced peaches
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
1 c. milk

Mix peaches and 2/3 cup sugar; let stand 20 minutes. Pour butter into a 2 quart casserole. Stir together flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl. Stir in milk until mixture is moistened; batter will be lumpy. Pour batter into prepared pan. Spoon peach mixture over batter; do not stir. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until puffed and golden. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
