DILL SAUCED MEATLOAF | |
1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 med. onion, chopped 1 slice bread, crumbled 1/2 c. dill pickle juice 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. chopped dill pickle 1/2 c. catsup 1/4 c. water 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Serves 6. Mix the meat with onion, bread crumbs, dill pickle juice, eggs, salt, and pepper until well blended. Shape into loaf in a shallow pan (I like to use a ring shape). Combine the dill pickle, catsup, water, sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over loaf. Bake, basting twice with sauce in the pan, 40 minutes. Continue baking without basting 35 minutes longer or until richly glazed. |
