SAMBO COOKIES 
1 lb. cut up dates
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 c. Spanish
1 can coconut

Combine dates, sugar and butter in pan; cook 5 minutes over low heat. Cool some. Add egg, milk, vanilla and salt; mix, heat through. Cool some. Pour into mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Cool in refrigerator. Roll into balls, then roll in coconut. Store on waxed paper in covered container.
