FRENCH ONION SOUP 
4 med. onions, sliced
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
1/2 lb. Swiss or Gruyere cheese
1 c. chicken broth
1/2 c. white wine
Sliced French bread

In a large frying pan cook the onions in butter until lightly browned. Add flour just until thickened slightly. Add wine and chicken broth. Serve in bowls topped with French bread and melted cheese. Makes 8 servings.
