2 1/2 c. flour, unsifted 1/4 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. lard 1 egg, beaten 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 5 oz. water or enough to mix Lard for frying Place flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon in bowl and mix with hands. Add egg, lard, water, mixing well after each addition. Let dough rest 5 minutes. Divide dough into 14 equal balls. Roll each ball into 8 inch circle. Stretch with hands to form 10-14 inch circles, very thin. Place on waxed paper or table top and allow to dry about 30 minutes. Deep fry each in hot lard until golden brown. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. |
