PLUM PUDDING 
1/4 lb. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. brown sugar

Cream together, add two eggs and mix. Add to above and mix: 1 c. dried currants 1 c. grated carrot 1 c. raisins Up to 1 c. citron 1 c. nuts, if desired

Sift together, mix with above: 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. mace 1/2 tsp. salt

Add to mixture, 1 cup fine dried bread crumbs, mix. Cover pan with foil, leaving 1 inch space for rising. Bake in 9 x 4 inch loaf pan at 250 degrees until solid (about 3 hours).
