EGGLESS CAKE 
2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
4 tsp. cocoa in 1/2 c. hot water
1 c. butter
1 c. pear preserves
1 c. chopped pecans
3 1/2 c. flour, don't make batter too thin or cake will fall

Mix all ingredients together and pour into greased and floured cake pans and bake until done.

ICING:

2 c. brown sugar
1 c. milk

Cook until it forms a soft ball then beat until firm and ice cooled cake.
