MANDARIN ORANGE DESSERT | |
3 egg whites 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. nuts, chopped 1 c. (scant) sugar 1 c. crushed Rice Krispies (not too fine) 1 pt. cream 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1 pt. instant vanilla pudding 3/4 c. coconut 2 cans mandarin oranges, drained Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Add nuts, sugar and crushed Rice Krispies. Spread in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool. Whip 1 pint cream and add powdered sugar and pudding mix; mix well. Add coconut and mandarin oranges. Spread over crust. Refrigerate at least 12 hours before using. Don't whip cream too stiff as pudding will thicken it, too. |
