APPLE DUMPLINGS 
DOUGH:

2 c. flour
3/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Sift flour, salt, and baking powder; cut in shortening. Add milk. Stir just until flour is moistened. Roll and cut in squares. Quarter apples and place in squares. Dot with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Place in pan 1 inch apart. Pour sauce over.

SAUCE:

2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. water

Combine and cook for 5 minutes. Bake 35 minutes at 375 degrees. Can also use for cherry roll with fresh or frozen cherries.
