KAT'S NUT CAKE 
2/3 c. shortening (half butter)
1 2/3 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 3/4 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. walnuts, cut up

Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) cake pans or sheet cake pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening until light colored; add sugar and cream until fluffy. Beat in eggs. Sift together dry ingredients; stir in alternately with milk and vanilla. Last, fold in walnuts and pour into prepared pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost as desired.
