DELORES' MANICOTTI | |
My sister makes this for her family all the time. She says it is easy for her to put together and they love it. 1/2 lb ground beef (my sis puts some Italian sausage for part of the hamburger) a shake of minced garlic 1 cup cream style cottage cheese 4 oz. Mozzarella shredded cheese 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 16 oz. jar Spaghetti sauce 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 sprinkle of Parmesan cheese Brown ground beef with garlic in skillet. Combine cottage cheese, Mozzarella cheese, salt and mayonnaise in a bowl; mix well. Pour mixture into the bowl with the hamburger mixture. It is best to cook your noodles while hamburger is browning. Cook noodles a little less than package states so that the noodles will hold together. Fill noodles from one end to the other (my sis uses her hands). Place in a single layer dish for baking. Put leftover ingredients over everything. Pour the 16 oz. of spaghetti sauce over all, being sure all noodles are covered well. Sprinkle the 1/2 teaspoon of oregano over the top. Sprinkle Parmesan over top. Place cover on dish and bake in a 350°F for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, and remove the lid of baking dish. Put the casserole back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes. Enjoy. Makes enough for 8. Submitted by: GT |
