ORANGE BLOSSOMS (LITTLE CAKES) | |
1 pkg. butter cake mix 1 1/2 boxes confectioners' sugar 2 oranges 2 lemons Prepare cake batter according to directions on package. Use the very small muffin tins, lined with paper cups or greased and floured, and spoon batter into each cup until cup is half full. (Do not overfill.) Bake cakes 10 to 12 minutes at 350°F. Grate the rind of oranges and lemons. Combine the juice of oranges and lemons with the grated rind and the confectioners' sugar to make a glaze. Let stand. Dip cakes while still hot in the glaze mixture. Cool. Yield: 7 or 8 dozen. This recipe makes small cakes NOT pastries. Do not confuse these little cakes with pastries which may be purchased in a store because they do not resemble any commercial product. |
