ELYSE'S BAKLAVA 
1 pkg. Filo dough
1 c. melted butter
1 c. finely chopped pistachio nuts (or walnuts)
1/2 c. finely chopped almonds (or hazelnuts or pecans)
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves (ground)
1/4 tsp. mace

SYRUP:

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/2 lemon
4 tbsp. honey (clove or orange flavor) herb can also be used

Should cook for 15 minutes.

Unroll the Filo package and cut to fit a 13x9 pan. Butter pan. Mix the nuts, sugar, and spices. Lay 10 sheets of filo in pan, brushing each sheet with melted butter. Sprinkle with 1/2 nut mixture over Filo and drizzle with melted butter.

Lay on 10 more sheets, brushing each. Cover with the rest of the nut mixture; drizzle more butter. Top with 10 Filo sheets, brush with butter. Cut without cutting through into a diamond-shaped pieces. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Now cut. Cool. prepare syrup and pour over Baklava. Makes 30.
