CHINESE CHEWS 
3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. finely cut dates
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 eggs, beaten

Combine dry ingredients and add dates and nuts. Beat eggs and add to the mixture. Mix thoroughly. Place mixture in a large greased shallow 8 x 8 x 2 pan ad spread as thin as possible.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Immediately after removing from oven, cut into small squares, and roll into balls. Roll the balls in granulated sugar. Makes 4 dozen. Store in tightly covered tin.
