1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon
1 pkg. lemon cake mix
1 (16 oz.) jar applesauce
3 eggs

Blend sugar and cinnamon. Grease tube pan and dust with sugar-cinnamon mixture. Save the rest of the mixture for the middle and top of cake.

Blend cake mix, applesauce and eggs. Beat as directed on package. Pour 1/2 of the batter in tube pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 of remaining sugar mixture. Pour remaining cake batter on top of sugar mixture. Top with remaining sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
