GRANDMOTHER'S WAFFLES 
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
5 tbsp. melted shortening
2 separated eggs
1 1/4 c. milk

Sift dry ingredients. Mix milk and egg yolks together. Stir the two mixtures together until smooth. Add melted shortening. Fold carefully in stiffly beaten egg whites.
