RICH BUTTER COOKIES 
1/2 lb. (225 g) butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. (130 g) sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. (215 g) flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cream the butter and the vanilla. Gradually add the sugar and the eggs and beat well. Mix the flour and salt together, add to the first mixture, and blend thoroughly. Arrange by half-teaspoonfuls on cookie sheets, leaving 2 inches between the cookies -- they will spread during baking. Flatten them with a knife dipped in cold water. Bake for about 8 minutes or until lightly browned. About 60 cookies.
