SOFT PRETZELS 
1 (1 lb.) loaf French bread dough
1 egg
Coarse salt
Onion salt
Parmesan cheese

Let well wrapped dough thaw and reach room temperature. Divide into 16 equal pieces. Roll each part 15" long. Twist each rope into pretzel shape, place on a greased baking sheet. Beat egg with 1 tablespoon water. Brush pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle with one of the salts or the cheese. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake until pretzels are brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
