SOFT PRETZELS 
1 (1 lb.) loaf frozen bread dough
1 egg
Coarse salt or onion salt

Thaw dough to room temperature. Divide into 16 equal parts. Roll each part between palms of hands into a rope 15 inches long and about 1/2 inch thick. Twist each rope into a pretzel shape. Place on greased cookie sheet. Beat egg with 1 tablespoon water; brush over pretzels. Sprinkle with 1 of the salts or with Parmesan cheese if desired. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
