LAUREN'S GREEN PEA SALAD 
1/2 c. sour cream
3 tbsp. red wine or cider vinegar
4 tsp. milk
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, thawed and dried
3/4 c. sliced water chestnuts
1/4 c. thinly sliced scallions
6 strips bacon

Dice bacon strips and cook until crisp. Drain and set aside. Mix sour cream, vinegar, milk and spices together and stir until smooth. Add peas, water chestnuts, scallions and bacon bits. Chill well. Serve on a bed of lettuce.
