TANGY LIME SALSA | |
2 lg., ripe tomatoes, cored and chopped 1 med. onion, finely chopped 3 cloves garlic, minced 1/4 c. fresh lime juice 1 jalapeno pepper, stemmed, seeded, and minced (be careful not to burn hands or eyes) or 2 canned whole green chiles 1 tbsp. dry white wine 1 tsp. chili powder Pinch of ground cumin Freshly ground black pepper to taste Combine all the ingredients in a medium mixing bowl and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour before serving. Yield: about 1 1/2 cups. |
