Anything this easy shouldn't taste this good! 1/2 c. butter (125 ml) 1 (19 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix (539 g) 1/2 c. flaked coconut (125 ml) 2 (14 oz.) cans applesauce (2-398 ml) 1/2 c. white sugar (125 ml) 1 tsp. cinnamon (5 ml) 1 c. sour cream (250 ml) 2 egg yolks Cut butter into cake mix until crumbly. Mix in coconut. Pat into greased 9 x 13 inch (4 l) cake pan, building up edges slightly. Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 10 minutes. Spread applesauce over warm crust. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Blend sour cream and egg yolks and drizzle over apples. Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 25 minutes. Serve warm. Freezes well. Serves 12. Note: Sour cream and yolk mixture doesn't completely cover apples. Do unto others - then run! |
