1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. smooth peanut butter
2 eggs
1/4 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 (11 oz.) pkg. Hershey's kisses

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream sugar, brown sugar, shortening and peanut butter together. Add eggs, milk and vanilla together; beat well. Stir together salt, baking soda and flour then add all to peanut butter mixture; mix very well. Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll in additional granulated sugar.

Push down on balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes in a 325 degree oven. Remove cookies from oven. Press a Hershey's kiss in the middle of each cookie. Return to oven and bake 3 minutes longer. Remove and cool.
