OATMEAL MACAROONS 
1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. molasses
1 egg, unbeaten
1 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. rolled oats
1/3 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. coconut (optional)

Combine first 7 ingredients and beat thoroughly. Sift flour with baking soda, add to first mixture, mix well. Add rest and mix thoroughly. Drop teaspoon of dough on greased cookie sheets and bake at 350-375 degrees for 10-15 minutes. (Less time for chewy cookies.)
