BAKED SHERRY APPLES 
4 lg. red apples, cored
2 tbsp. butter
4 tsp. sugar
1/4 c. sherry
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 thin lemon slices

Put cored, unpeeled apples in a saucepan and precook in boiling water to cover for 5 minutes. Drain apples and transfer to a baking dish.

Melt butter and add sugar, sherry and cinnamon. Pour over apples and into hollow apple centers. Add about 1/4 cup of hot water to bottom of baking dish. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-40 minutes, basting occasionally. Serve hot or cold, with ice cream, whip cream or pouring cream if desired. Makes 4 servings.
