BUTTERMILK BROWNIES 
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. water
1/4 c. oil
1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 c. buttermilk

Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan (cocoa, water, oil and butter). Bring to boil. Remove from heat.

Mix sugar, eggs, soda, salt and vanilla together. Add mixture from pan. Add flour and buttermilk; mix well. Put in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Will spring like cake.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1 c. ground pecans
1/4 c. cocoa
1/3 c. buttermilk
3/4 lb. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil. Spread on brownies as soon as you take them out of oven.
