DATE NUT BALLS 
8 oz. chopped oats
1 c. sugar
1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter
1 egg
2 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Place in saucepan dates, sugar and butter; cook for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies and nuts. Form into balls and roll in confectioners' sugar.

HINTS: Use a heavy saucepan and stir constantly as this tends to stick and scorch easily.

Be careful when forming balls as the mixture is very hot and burns your hands. It will help to keep rinsing your hands in cold water. Butter on your hands will also assist in keeping the mixture from sticking to your hands.
