MARY KAY C.'S CRISP OATMEAL
COOKIES
 
1 c. shortening (soft Crisco)
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 rounded tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. rolled oats

Cream sugar and shortening until smooth. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, salt, cinnamon, and soda; add alternately with milk and vanilla. Mix well, then add rolled oats. Drop by rounded teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes - more or less. Yield nearly 100 cookies.
