GINGER COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs
4 c. flour
2 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/4 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Beat in molasses and eggs. Set aside.

Combine flour, salt, soda and spices. Blend thoroughly with wire whisk. Gradually add flour to creamed mixture until smooth. Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls. Dip in sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees on greased cookie sheet for 11 minutes for chewy cookies, 3 or 4 minutes longer for crisp cookies. Makes about 3 dozen.
