FAILURE PROOF CUSTARD 
4 eggs
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. water
1 2/3 c. (lg. can) undiluted Carnation evaporated milk

Beat all ingredients and mix well. Pour into custard cups or 6-8 baking dishes; sprinkle with nutmeg. Put dishes in 2 1/2 inch deep pans and pour water around custard dishes.

Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 40-45 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Remove custard from water and cool. Add topping if you desire.
