1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt

Mix all at once, pour into greased 8 x 8 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees until top springs back when pressed.
