KAHLUA 
1 qt. vodka
4 c. sugar
2 oz. instant dry coffee
Cheesecloth
1/2 gallon jug
2 c. boiling water
1 vanilla bean

Dissolve sugar and coffee in boiling water, stir until sugar is dissolved. Cut vanilla bean with scissors in strips and then in pieces. Add to sugar mixture. Cool to room temperature.

Add vodka to mixture, put in 1/2 gallon jug. Seal bottle and age 1 month. Shake a few times every three days. Strain through cheesecloth after aging, then return to bottle. Keeps forever.
