MOM'S BUTTER CREAM ICING 
1 egg white
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. Crisco, (solid)
1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. milk

In small mixer bowl, beat egg white stiff. In big mixer bowl add sugar, Crisco, butter, salt and vanilla. Let it beat constantly while heating the milk. Do not let the milk boil. Add the egg white to the large bowl and beat just before adding the hot milk, 4 tablespoons at a time until all the milk is added. Ready to frost the cake. Refrigerate the frosted cake in warm weather. Recipe makes enough frosting for one cake.
