JOHNNY APPLESEED MEATBALLS 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. apples, chopped
1/4 c. bread crumbs
1/4 c. onions, chopped
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. salad oil
1 (3/4 oz.) envelope brown gravy mix
1 c. water

Mix beef, apples, bread crumbs, onion, eggs, and salt. Mix thoroughly but lightly and shape into 18 to 20 meatballs. Brown in heated oil. Drain. Stir in contents of gravy mix, brown sugar and water. Let it come to a simmer as you stir it. Cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Good served over rice.
