CHERRY APPLE NUT BREAD 
2/3 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. canned applesauce
1/2 c. milk
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/3 c. nuts
2/3 c. chopped Maraschino cherries

Cream butter and sugar and add eggs, one at a time. Stir in applesauce and milk. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt and add to above mixture, then the lemon juice, nuts and cherries. Mix well and pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Let stand 15 minutes, then remove from pans.
