OUR FAVORITE SUGAR COOKIE 
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. soft butter (1/4 lb.)
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Blend sugar and butter well. Stir in beaten eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to butter; blend well. Chill until easy to handle. Leave in refrigerator overnight will do it. Roll out 1/8 inch thick. Place on non-stick cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
